As a professional counsellor information that is shared remains between counsellor and client.
There are exceptions and a counsellor has a duty of care in regards to these issues whereby to protect and advise authorities is obligatory, and they are as follows:
Information given about a client carrying out a plan of self harm such as suicide,
Information in regards to child abuse, and
Information in regards to harming other persons.
